Patient instructions

Our restaurants and cafes serve patients, staff, and visitors to the hospital both at the Oulu University Hospital and Oulaskangas Hospital. Various meal and snack options are available as well as hygiene products in cafes. Cafeteria and restaurant services are provided by the Oulu University Hospital Restaurant Centre, which is also responsible for organising patient meals for ward patients.

Our restaurants serve guests and staff in OYS, Peltola and Oulaskangas

In all the restaurants you can pay for your meal with cash or a bank card. The menus are displayed both on the website and on the bulletin board of the dining rooms.

The cafes sell coffee, fruit, portions of food and salad, sandwiches, rolls and other bakery products as well as newspaper and toiletries such as toothbrushes. There is also a salad buffet in Cafeteria Neilikka on weekdays.

Restaurants at Oulu University Hospital (OYS)

All our restaurants are open on weekdays at lunchtime. Restaurant Kotka is open also on weekends.

The restaurants in Peltola serve especially the clients and staff of the OYS Psychiatry and the OYS Konsti wards. See more detailed locations:

The restaurant currently serves only the staff of the house.

Snack and drink vending machines

There are also several snack and drink vending machines in OYS.

Snack vending machines are located in the Joint Emergency Department (door K) and the Paediatric Emergency Department (door LD).

There are several vending machines for soft drinks in the hospital, for instance in the lobby areas of the Paediatric Ward (L-doors) and in the lobby areas of the main hospital’s K, N and S entrance.

There are also several hot drink vending machines in the hospital, for instance in the premises of the Medical Day Hospital, the Paediatric Emergency Department and the Joint Emergency Department.
